With the integration of the former ebs Immobilienakademie into the IRE|BS International Real Estate Business School, which is part of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Regensburg, the academy, which now operates under the name of IRE|BS Immobilienakademie, also acquired the status of an “academic institution”.

The IRE|BS with its two units, the IRE|BS Real Estate Institute and the IRE|BS Real Estate Academy, has developed in a short time into one of the largest university-based real estate centers worldwide. The academy provides theory-guided, and at the same time application-oriented training, executive education, research and consulting, which form the “magic quadrilateral” of the IRE|BS. The four components are mutually beneficial: academic research benefits from the input of students in executive education, and conversely, the findings of application-oriented research are incorporated into the executive education programs.

Karl-Werner Schulte was Managing Director and Academic Director of the IRE|BS Real Estate Academy until his retirement in 2011. The IRE|BS Real Estate Academy is headquartered at Eberbach Abbey, Rheingau.
