Academic work

After years of teaching and studying at the Westphalian-Wilhelms-University of Münster, Professor Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte worked at the EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL in Oestrich-Winkel (Rheingau) from 1986. Here he discovered his passion for real estate and the real estate business. From 1990 onwards, Karl-Werner Schulte provided the real estate industry with an “academic home” for the first time in Germany, which he continued in 2006 at the IRE|BS International Real Estate Business School of the University of Regensburg. His teaching and research activities have significantly advanced the professionalization of the industry. He established Real Estate Economics as an academic discipline with an interdisciplinary approach. His national and international reach and the associated recognition are reflected in his numerous appointments and honorary posts.

In 1970, Professor Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte graduated from the Westphalian-Wilhelms University Münster with a degree in Business Administration, and was subsequently awarded his doctorate in 1974 for a thesis on “Optimal useful life and optimal replacement time in withdrawal maximization”.

In 1986, Professor Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte was appointed to the Chair of Investment and Finance at the European Business School (EBS). In 1994, he moved to the endowed chair of Real Estate Economics at EBS.
