Real Estate Economics draws its conclusions on the one hand from the transfer of knowledge from general business administration, and on the other hand, from the neighboring disciplines of economics, law, urban planning, economic geography, architecture and engineering.
Real Estate Economics does not see itself merely as a branch of economics, since its scope of application extends far beyond the real estate industry.

Prof. Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte is considered the founder of Real Estate Economics as an academic discipline at universities and colleges in German-speaking countries.
