Prof. Karl Werner Schulte

Prof. Dr. Karl-Werner Schulte

Endowed Chair of Real Estate Economics

At the beginning of the 1990s, Karl-Werner Schulte conducted a fundamental reorientation in teaching and research by devoting himself to the field of Real Estate Economics, a term which he had himself introduced.

In 1994, he appropriately took over the endowed chair of Real Estate Economics at the European Business School (EBS) in order to firmly establish Real Estate Economics as an academic discipline, not only in executive education, but also in teaching and research. Under his leadership, the EBS Department of Real Estate was subsequently established through the appointment of further professors. There was a special commemorative publication for the 10th anniversary of the endowed chair.

Karl-Werner Schulte was also co-initiator and Academic Director of the Center for Urban and Real Estate Studies (CUREM), which was founded in Zurich in 2003 and is now part of the University of Zurich.
